Sort of an oddly diffuse birthday, with people having come and gone somewhat randomly throughout the weekend, presents arriving by mail, phone calls, etc. In short, really lovely. I love my friends! It's slightly odd not to have actually had an official birthday event this year, but whatev, we were too busy doing other fun stuff.
To wit: we went to part 2 of our friends' 2-part wedding last night (the party part with the free martinis -- Lady Gin is not kind to me the next morning, ow), and attended another Bunch family dance today. Kinda like the last one except with Lincoln Logs in the chillout room this time, and way, way more crowded. I think they actually had to turn people away. Here's hoping they don't have to change to a new venue—the Drake has such a great vibe...
So, then, Aikido this evening, then steak and potatoes for dinner, prepared by her Maysieness. Mmmm. Happy Birthday to me, indeed.
