Shameless Birthday Wishlist Plug

Hey! My birthday's coming! If you know me and want to get me fun stuff, why not actually get me something I want? I'm always curious why people aren't more forthcoming about this sort of information, since it actually helps friends know what the heck to get for you. I imagine there's something about people not wanting to seem presumptuous about it involved, to which I say: if you weren't gonna get me anything anyway, never mind! Pretend you never saw this blog entry and get on with your life; I don't really care! Maybe you'll get me a drink that night. Or maybe you'll just show up and make me feel loved; that's totally fine by me. Heck, maybe you'll just be one of the people who remembers to wish me a happy birthday that day. Or, maybe you'll do none of those things but we'll still be friends, because who the heck keeps track of who does what for them on their birthdays as a basis for some kind of twisted friendship accounting system, anyway? No one I'd want to bother being friends with, that's for sure¹. In any case: if you are interested, then please, would-be present buyers, peruse my chapters.ca wishlist.

¹Crucial update: Spouses are, of course, entirely exempt from the preceding rant. I mean, anyone who would forget to do anything for their spouse's birthday—anything at all—would just be an asshat. And would totally deserve to be forced to do some kind of embarrassing ass/hat dance in front of all of said spouse's assembled friends at some point in the future, whilst they all point and laugh, and laugh. And laugh. Not like I'd know anything about having done that or anything. Twice. Um, nuthin'. Hey, look over there!

You know, the dance almost made the shitty birthday worthwhile. Almost. But where's my dance for this year, huh? Or do I have to wait 365 days again?? I can only imagine how big your hat will have to be by then...

OH MY GOD!! I didn't know Chapters had a wishlist function. That's brilliant!!!!! I am in Vancouver being entertained by your blog after a day of mountains and blue skies. Well, kind of grey and foggy skies actually, but come on..MOUNTAINS!!! Everything is "COOKIES" to borrow your son's phrase.

Ciao Asshat Dancing Man and Long Suffering Wife!
